For fun I decided to redesign the explore tab screen from an already existing food delivery app. I spent a considerable amount of time identifying the usability and visual aesthetic problems and how to improve the design. My goal was to provide a clean and visually stunning looking app. I wanted to present what great branding means. Branding is the face of the company distinguishing themselves from their competitors. It involves creating a name / image to establish a presence in the customer’s mind and attract and keep customers. Hence, the logo is a valuable asset. Designers input of the design influences customers trust. My inspiration came from the fun, friendly, cool, and cute icons. I thought the colours really brought out the cheerfulness and liveliness of the app. I notice in the beginning of the app it was entertaining and refreshing with the different ways of discovering restaurants. However, that feeling didn’t last long. The app progressively became boring, unadventurous and lost its touch. To improve and solve the problem I kept the soft, colourful colours, and the food icons throughout the app to keep the users attention and brand. I want the experience to be trustworthy, memorable, fun, and entertaining for the users when ordering.
